Can the software be used by more than one user?
Yes. Configurations are available in single, 5, 10 and unlimited number of users.
Case is taken to coordinate teamwork on the same project.

Does PFS have project size limitations?
The software is available in several sizes of projects. The number of Tags
determines a project size for PFS software. The smallest configuration is limited
to 100 Tags. The largest is unlimited number of Tags.

Is PFS real-time batch automation software?
No. PFS is a set of engineering tools used to specify and simulate procedures for
Batch Automation.

What is the pricing structure of PFS?
The software is licensed for use based upon project size (number of Tags) and number
of users. This allows customers the ability to start using the software in small, single
user configurations and upgrade to larger size configurations as project size and number
of users increase.

How does PFS compare to engineering software packages such as Intools, Rebis, CIMS, etc.?
The above packages are used in design and specification of the control system hardware.
PFS is used for specifying automation software.

Is PFS strictly S88 compliant?
Although PFS users may specify a process with full compatibility to S88 - the software allows
users to diverge and to create specifications that are only partly compatible with S88 methodology.

Do we need P&ID's in order to input data to PFS software?
Not necessarily. PFS imports data from spreadsheets and other databases. P&ID's are a useful
means of input and visualization.

What brand of CAD software packages are compatible with PFS?
PFS imports .dxf file formats produced by all major CAD packages.

How does PFS support change management?
PFS tracks changes made in P&ID and in its database. It analyzes and produces a visual report
on all changes made in a P&ID. This is coupled with the ability of the software to record any
data entry to the database and produce detailed change reports and audit trail.

How can the users avoid duplicate data entry when they use PFS and
Batch Engine software?
PFS use export/import facilities (Excel, XML) to allow users to enter Procedure/ Area/ Recipe/
Information only once and share it between the engineering and Real-Time software.

How much of the Controller code does PFS-Code produce?
Based on our experience, current versions of the PFS-Code software produce approx. 80% of the
software residing in the Controller in a typical Batch application. We are working to get closer
to full code.

How do you ensure that users produce their own format of Test Protocols?
The Template Wizard allows users to create test templates that are highly similar to the format they
currently use.
